Hunting
Once you become a renegade hunting will become a very common thing you'll experience. Unlike your standard wolf packs however, we hunt different game. Canines of all sorts; from the simple domestic dog, coyotes, foxes to wolves; end up on our menu. Unlike other cannibal groups however we do things differently. We are a mature group that wants to be respected and show respect. So if you're going to hunt with us at all it'll be wise to read this religiously. A mistake here and there is ok, but if it becomes a habit when hunting and you don't follow rules accordingly, you'll be instantly booted. You have been warned.
There are three basic hunting methods we use, some more then others and each has it's own set of guidelines. Note,Hunting can and will be a fairly gruesome experience in character. Posts may be detailed and depict various forms of gore and devouring of another character. We hunt actual roleplayed characters, so fighting and struggles are normal. it can be.. intense at times.

Patrols,Patrols are when we leave the current den-site to seek out a suitable meal. We'll normally set out on separate patrols until we find prey before meeting back up and going in for the kill. These are typically fairly coordinated and we take down lone wolves or small groups, no more then three, but it varies from situation to situation. Common practice is to surround and close in on the prey and if someone is in lead of the hunt you follow their instructions. Everyone on the hunting patrol is required to help out, pups excluded to this rule. If you are there and unwilling to step in and aide your pack then you are rewarded with no food from the kill once taken down.
Regulations,-Prey may be scouted out in f3 beforehand
-You must ask that person OOCly if we may attack and eat them. -If they say no thank them anyways for their time -Let the group know only when you're 100% sure you have found willing prey -Whoever finds the prey has honors of calling dibs on leading the hunt -No powerplaying or autohitting at all -Be respectful to the prey OOC and kindly thank them for being good sports -Try to avoid post cutting When messaging the person OOC asking for permission say something along the lines of this:
"Hi, if you're not busy I was wondering if my group of literate cannibals could come attack and eat you? You can pretend it never happened afterwards and continue roleplaying normally. I just prefer asking first and being polite rather then attacking randomly." Over half of the time this will work, if you get a rude response just kindly thank them anyways and apologize. Most people aren't rude however unless they're sort of n00bish. |
Wandering Strays,All too often you'll see canines roam a little to close to us and lurk in our territory. If it's not a large group, allied pack or someone with a worthy purpose the renegades find some fast food. Situations vary but a pack member will greet the roamer as the rest of the nearby pack moves to casually surround them. If the confrontation isn't hostile to begin with we don't make it. We lead them on, act all friendly before pouncing and sinking our fangs in! Sometimes if a friendly facade is broken or the prey catches on it's best you get on with the kill quickly.
Regulations,-If prey roleplays first to engage us, you don't have to seek OOC permission to attack
-Sometimes they'll dash off randomly without waiting for posts, if that's the case let them go -Only chase fleeing prey if they attempt to escape or pause to wait for replies -No dibs for first attack as it's all played out so fast, just roll with it -You may ask for the killing blow ICly after we're already attacking -Be respectful to the prey OOC and kindly thank them for being good sports afterwards -Try not to post cut -If prey isn't familar with para roleplay; you may have to shorten your posts and post faster |
Combat
Combat is something that happens frequently with the renegades due to their lifestyle choices. Prey put up an obvious struggle when hunting, threats need dealt with and disputes break out so fighting if fairly prominent in day to day life. Some rituals and training calls for fighting. As it's such a big factor members need to learn how we handle combat and deal with things properly. A renegades fighting represents the group as a whole and anyone not following rules, auto-hitting or generally being a hindrance makes us all look bad. Please keep that in mind. We don't ask you to be excellent at combat without mistakes, but as long as you try your best you'll be ok. We all mess up and fighting in general takes practice and experience.
Combat varies throughout RR, if its for a ritualistic purposes, hunting, or punishment the severity differs and the fighting style does as well. Your characters strengths, past injuries, and psychiatric health may all contribute to their ability to ward off an attacker, and we ask that you acknowledge this as best you can in your roleplay posts. Some people keep track of their health in their bios, we recommend that if you're character has a rank that actively engages in sparring that you monitor it somewhat.
To reiterate, combat is turn based which means you cannot attack two times in a row, you must wait for your opponent to either dodge, or reciprocate an assault before you can post again. If someone posts multiple times, politely remind them of this rule, and if they refuse to abide by it, you can refuse to fight them. To define terms used above, powerplaying is roleplaying in a way where your character has an unreasonable amount of power and cannot be defeated no matter what, this is frustrating and it takes a lot of the fun out of the roleplay when people do this. Auto-hitting is another common problem, this refers to simply saying you landed an attack without giving the other person a chance to dodge or react to the attack. Instead of saying "She clawed his side," say, "She aimed to claw his side" this way it gives the person you are battling a fair chance to respond accordingly. Though there are exceptions to this rule; if your character holds the rank of slave/prisoner and there is no conceivable way that they could dodge a blow struck at them, it is alright to automatically land an attack. Though this is under very specific circumstances and should not be taken out of context. It is also wise to discuss OOC before you engage in combat with your opponent to give consent on what you're okay with happening during the fight; this avoids any OOC fighting that may spark up from someone's character getting too severely wounded or face death. If you choose to not discuss such things and agree to allow the fight to be "in the hands of fate" please accept whatever comes your characters way. If you hold the rank of a prisoner or servant there will be beatings. Your character will undoubtedly be beaten, attacked, or just toyed with for the fun of it, this should all be acknowledged when assigning your OC to that rank. While you do have some say in what happens to your character, you do not get to dictate that they simply cannot be harmed when put in an unrealistic situations, it's simply not fair and gives us little to work with as well as pushing our own characters out of their set personalities to accommodate. |
